Genuine vintage Soviet military medal badge awarded for “Distinction in Service”. Original USSR period badge made of aluminium, measuring approximately 5.5 × 4 cm, with pin fastening on the reverse side.
This badge was issued for members of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (VVMVD) of the USSR. The design features the traditional Soviet military emblem with shield, sword and red star elements.
The reverse side bears the inscription, which translates as “For Distinction in Service”.
These badges were produced in two classes (gold and silver versions) starting in 1971. This example is the first class gold-tone version.
