This grey wool Budenovka hat is a reproduction inspired by the distinctive headwear worn by Red Army soldiers during the early Soviet period. It features a prominent red star cloth patch on the front with a metal hammer and sickle badge at the centre.
Made from thick grey wool, the Budenovka has the traditional pointed crown and fold-down sides. The sides can be worn folded up or lowered and fastened under the chin for additional protection in cold weather.
The Budenovka became one of the most recognisable forms of Red Army headwear following the Russian Civil War and remains closely associated with the early Soviet period.
